Tibetan people are preparing for Tibetan New Year
With the approach Tibetan New Year or Losar, Tibetan people begin to prepare for it. They are busy with purchasing various festive goods to welcome a happy Tibetan New Year, such as butter sculptures, Kasai (a specialty for Tibetan New Year), candies and vertical written couplets, are placed in eye-catching positions to attract customers.
Tibetan New Year is the most important festival for Tibetans, which will fall on Feb.22 this year. Actually, since the beginning of December on the Tibetan calendar, people prepare to celebrate the New Year.
Lhasa, the "happiest" city will hold the traditional Tibetan New Year gala themed "Happiness". Over one thousand staff would take part in the gala performance, which doubles the number of last year's gala. With the theme of "happiness", the Lhasa Television gala will focus more on the lives of talented grassroots people and provide a platform to show their talents, according to the organizer.
