Overview

What Makes this Tibet Trip Different?

Master Kungga Dundruk

Sijinla Tso, a tranquil and sacred highland lake, is about a 1.5-2 hour drive from Lhasa. Its azure waters, fluttering prayer flags, and surrounding snow-capped mountains create a pristine and picturesque landscape. The approximately 6.5-kilometer lakeside loop offers a relaxing journey that blends natural beauty with Tibetan Buddhist prayer culture.

Just 1.5 to 2 hours from downtown Lhasa lies one of Tibet's most peaceful sacred lakes.

Surrounded by rolling mountains, colorful prayer flags, and crystal-clear water, Drigung Tso feels far away from the busy world.

Unlike steep mountain hikes, this journey is gentle and relaxing.

The 6.5-kilometer trail circles the entire lake, allowing you to walk at your own pace while enjoying ever-changing views of the turquoise water, distant snow-capped peaks, and the vast Tibetan grasslands.

Along the way, local Tibetans come to walk the kora, spinning prayer wheels and hanging prayer flags as they pray for happiness, love, and good fortune.

Walking quietly beside them, you naturally slow your steps and begin to experience the peaceful rhythm of Tibetan life.

By the time you complete the circuit, you may discover that the greatest reward is not simply reaching the end of the trail.

It is finding a moment of calm, where the mountains, the lake, and the gentle breeze remind you that sometimes the best journeys are the ones that allow you to simply slow down.
