The full kora around Mansarovar Lake is about 90 kilometers and generally takes 4 days to complete, which means you need to walk about 23 kilometers a day.
Luckily, some sections of Mansarovar Kora can be covered by car, so you can experience a part of Mansarovar Lake Kora in one day by car, or just experience the essential part of the kora in a few hours.

3. Decide How to Undertake the Manasarovar Lake Yatra: from Lhasa or Kathmandu?
If you just want to undertake a Mansarovar Lake Kora, it is most convenient to go directly from Kathmandu via the Gyirong border. It is also the most popular route among pilgrims from India. Overlanding from Kathmandu, you will enter Tibet via the Gyirong border and follow the road north to Mansarovar Lake. The road distance from Kathmandu to Mansarovar is around 730 kilometers. As you need to leave one day to cross the border from Nepal to Tibet (China), you will spend around 10 days to reach Mansarovar from Kathmandu by road.

You need to get the Chinese Visa first, and then apply for the Tibet Travel Permit with your passport, your Chinese Visa, and a pre-arranged Mansarovar Lake tour through a local travel agency. All these should be done in advance, because you need to get the Tibet Permit to board your train or flight to Tibet or cross the land border.
