Generally, the Kailash trek takes three days. However, if you are a non-pilgrim tourist or unable to complete the full trek due to physical conditions, you can just do a short hike on the first day and return to Darchen.

Please remember that once you start he trek on the second day, especially after crossing the Dolma La Pass (5,630m), you’ll have no choice but to continue the journey.

Therefore, if you experience altitude sickness or physical discomfort, it's recommended not to force yourself. You can return to Darchen on the first day and wait for the rest of your group to finish their trek before reuniting.

Generally, for ordinary tourists, a journey from Lhasa to Mount Kailash always includes sightseeing along the way. You will explore the iconic landmarks of Lhasa, admire the turquoise Yamdrok Lake, visit Shigatse, the second largest city of Tibet, and stay one night at Everest Base Camp before heading to Mount Kailash.
