When the idea of traveling to Tibet first entered my mind - a land known for its dramatic landscapes, spiritual depth, and extraordinary altitude - I knew it wasn’t a destination I could simply organize on my own. I needed a reliable, experienced operator who would guide me through the entire process and give me a sense of security. That is exactly how I discovered Tibet Vista.

Seamless Planning and Personalized Guidance: Choosing the Perfect Tibet Tour with Tibet Vista
From the very first contact, I felt I was making the right choice. My travel consultant was patient, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable; he answered all my questions, addressed every concern, and helped me plan the trip step by step. Thanks to his support, the planning stage felt smooth and reassuring, and I knew early on that I was in good hands.
One of the greatest advantages of choosing Tibet Vista is their wide range of Tibet small group tour options. Their offer is extensive, allowing travelers to explore the region in many different ways - whether they prefer shorter, more relaxed itineraries or longer, more ambitious journeys covering vast parts of the plateau.
After browsing through the available possibilities, I chose an eight-day tour that included a night at the Everest Base Camp - something I had dreamt about long before the trip became reality. The thought of standing so close to the world’s highest mountain filled me with excitement, and as it turned out, the experience went far beyond anything I could have imagined.
My consultant also helped me select the best transportation option. I ultimately decided to travel to Tibet by train, embarking on the famous 21-hour journey across the “roof of the world,” often described as one of the most spectacular railway routes on Earth.

This part of the trip became an adventure in itself: watching the landscapes change, slowly gaining altitude, and experiencing the unique atmosphere of the high plateau before even arriving in Tibet. Tibet Vista arranged all the documents including the Tibet travel permit and tickets, so I didn’t have to worry about any formalities.
Upon arrival in Lhasa, finding our local assistant was easy, and we were quickly taken to our hotel. Although the website clearly stated that hotel standards might differ from those in Europe, I was pleasantly surprised. All the accommodations throughout the journey were clean, comfortable, and well prepared to host travelers adjusting to high altitude.
The only detail that stood out - something I had actually read about before - was that local restrooms rarely provide toilet paper or soap. It’s definitely worth carrying those items with you, but it’s a very small inconvenience in the grand scheme of things.
Our Tibetan tour guide, Charlie, was an absolute highlight of the trip. Knowledgeable, friendly, and deeply passionate about his culture, he ensured that each of the ten people in our group felt safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. Together with our excellent driver, he provided us with the kind of holiday experience that each of us will undoubtedly describe as a dream come true.
The itinerary was well-balanced and thoughtfully planned, yet flexible enough to accommodate small adjustments based on our preferences. Whenever the group had a request, Charlie considered it and, if possible, adjusted the plan - always ensuring it aligned with the rules and with the proper acclimatization schedule.

Begin with a 2 days Lhasa tour, every day we explored new attractions - monasteries, mountain passes, lakes, and towns - step by step and without rushing. I appreciated that we also had a bit of free time each afternoon. Everyone could use that time however they wished: resting, taking photos, shopping, or simply wandering through the streets.
I often chose to walk around on my own, discovering local life, and Charlie never hesitated to give me excellent suggestions on where to go or what to try. Thanks to him, I felt like I was truly experiencing Tibet, not just observing it from a tourist’s perspective.
Of course, one of the biggest challenges of traveling is the altitude sickness in Tibet. Lhasa lies at around 3,600 meters above sea level, and our itinerary took us to even higher points. Before the trip, I had concerns about how my body would react.
Fortunately, our guide provided detailed explanations about the risks and symptoms of altitude sickness. He encouraged us to stay aware of our bodies, ask questions, and communicate any discomfort. His support was constant and reassuring, and the itinerary itself was designed to make acclimatization as safe and gradual as possible.
It’s important to acknowledge that being above 4,500 meters can be demanding for anyone, regardless of age or physical fitness. Preparing for such a journey by checking one’s health and approaching the challenge responsibly is essential. But looking back now, I can say with confidence that the effort is absolutely worth it.

The highlight of the entire journey - the night spent at Everest Base Camp - was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. At an altitude of 5,200 meters, the air was noticeably thinner, and each step required more effort, but the breathtaking views made every difficulty fade away. Watching the sunset behind the world’s highest peak, illuminating it in shades of gold, was simply unforgettable.
Later that night, the sky filled with stars, and to my amazement, we could clearly see the Milky Way stretching above us. It was a moment of complete silence and awe, shared by the whole group. Before dawn we set out for the viewpoint to witness the sunrise, and the excitement we felt was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.
Our return to Lhasa was smooth and filled with conversations, laughter, and a sense of connection. By that point, we were no longer just a group of strangers - we had become friends brought together by a profound shared experience. Tibet offered us beauty, spirituality, and memories that will stay with each of us forever.
As we said our goodbyes, Charlie mentioned that perhaps we would meet again one day on a journey to Mount Kailash. After everything I experienced on this trip, I truly believe that this might become a reality. Tibet has left a deep mark on my heart, and I am already thinking about returning.
