2. How to get to Xining Caojiabao International Airport from Downtown Xining?
All flights from Xining to Lhasa take off at the Xining Caojiabao International Airport, which is the only airport in Xining City. It is located in Gaozhai Township, Huzhu County, Qinghai Province. The airport is about 28 kilometers away from the Xining downtown area. For the airport transfer, taxi and shuttle bus are two only transfer ways between Xining Caojiabao Airport and Xining downtown areas. There are two bus routes: the airport to Bayi Rd Bus Station (Xining Railway Station is along the route), and the airport to Qinghai Hotel. It costs only about 25 RMB. The shuttle bus takes about 40 minutes to get to the city center. The taxi usually costs around 100 RMB, and about 20 minutes to the downtown.
3. When is the best time to fly from Xining to Lhasa?

Other times, flights may be reduced due to bad weather, such as snowstorms. It is recommended to take the morning flight so that you can get to Lhasa before late afternoon, and have enough time to acclimatize yourself to the altitude and thin air in Lhasa. To avoid altitude sickness, it will be better to eat many vegetables, fruits, and some other foods full of Vitamin. Lhasa Gonggar International Airport one of the highest airports in the world is located in Gonggar County, Shannan City, Tibet, about 65 kilometers from downtown Lhasa. There are three options for you to get to Lhasa downtown. Usually, it is very convenient to get to downtown Lhasa from the airport by airport shuttle buses. There are shuttle buses every day. It will cost only about 30 RMB per person. It usually takes about 1 to 2 hours to transfer between the airport and Lhasa downtown. You also can choose a Taxi. If you want to get to Lhasa City by taxi from the airport, you have to pay 160 to 200 RMB or even more. It usually will take you 1 hour to the downtown. In this way, you can go anywhere in downtown Lhasa if you want to.
Taking the airport bus or taking a taxi can both help you get to the city of Lhasa.
