Bhutan Visa & Permit Application for International Tourists
Bhutan is one of the most unique destinations in the world, and any vacation to Bhutan requires you to be on an organized tour. Bhutan’s unique tourism policy means that majority of tourists are not permitted to travel independently inside the kingdom and must have a guide and private vehicle at all times. You need to book your tour with us at least 30 days in advance of your travel dates, in order to obtain your visa and permits, which will be done on your behalf using a scanned copy of your valid passport.
Once you have booked the tour of your choice, simply send us a color scan of the details pages of your passport, and we will do the rest for you. Our travel consultants will arrange the visa clearance for you, and send it to you by email so that you can book your flights. Once you arrive, your personal guide will help you transit through immigration and get your travel permits for the kingdom, after which, you can head out and enjoy this beautiful land.
How to Get to Bhutan from China? Multiple Ways to Travel from China to Bhutan.
While there is no direct flight from the mainland of China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, there are locations relatively close to China, from which you can fly to Bhutan. Flights to Bhutan are run by only two Bhutanese airlines, DrukAir and Bhutan Airlines, and flights depart from nine airports in five countries, which include Kathmandu, Singapore, and Bangkok, which are the closest three airports to China for Bhutan flights. Flights to all three airports can be taken from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and several locations across the mainland of China.
Flights from Bangkok depart daily for Bhutan’s Paro International Airport, and take just 3 hours 30 minutes, while flights from Kathmandu take as little as 75 minutes to cross the short distance to Paro. Singapore also has daily flights to Paro, which take around five hours to cross the 3,300 kilometers to the Bhutanese airport.
If you are planning a trip to Bhutan from Kathmandu, then you also have the option of traveling overland to and through Tibet to the Nepali border, where you can cross into Nepal and travel overland to Kathmandu before taking the flight to Bhutan.
Alternatively, you can also fly to one of five airports in India, and take a train journey to Hasimara, the closest station to Bhutan, and then take a car to the overland border crossing at Phuentsholing.
