Overview

Bhutan Glance Tour takes you directly to the two big cities Thimphu and Paro, and provides you with the well-preserved ancient way of living. Besides, it takes you to the world class Taktsang Ghoempa (Widely known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery) and enjoy a fantastic panoramic sight from it.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Paro (2,200 m)& Paro - Thimphu (2,334 m)

Distance: 54 km
Time: 1 hour

Paro arrival by the royal Bhutan airline, the Drukair flight. Your tour guide is ready to wait for you before picking you up and drive you from Paro airport to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. After the well-prepared Bhutanese meal which is ritualistically served in a Bhutan way, you will be go sightseeing the following sites:

1) National Textile Museum
It is an amazing museum that keeps the traditional art of waving preserved and exhibits a good collection of ancient colored textile in a various forms. You can find out how the exquisite exhibits are waved by locals giving a spot operation with intricate tools.

2) Folk Heritage Museum
An outdoor museum which gives an insight into the local rural life.

3) Centenary Farmer’s Market
See Bhutan local resident’s market where peddlers sell their wild range of farm products (Like fresh vegetables, kinds of Bhutan fruits, wild but edible ferns, bamboo shoots collected from forests, roasted rice, rice flakes, spices, yams both cultivated and wild ones collected from forests etc.). Free to strike up a convocation with locals from towns and villages. If you catch up with the weekend market (Every Thursday to Sunday), it will be much more alive.

4) Tashichhoe Dzong
As a fortress of religion, Tashichhoe Dzong was built in 1641 and reconstructed into what it shows to you now by the former emperor. It houses the secretariat building, the throne room, the office of the king and the central monk part.

Day 2: Thimphu - Paro & One Day Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang Ghoempa)

Distance: 54 km
Time: 1 hour
One Day Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
Time: 6 - 7 hours (Climb up and down)

Drive to Paro in the early morning after breakfast, and then embark on the hike to Taktsang Ghoempa (Also known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery).

Climb up to the viewpoint (1.5 hr) to enjoy the stunning view of the monastery clinging to the side of the sheer vertical cliff.

After a temporary refreshment stop at the view point (3,140 m), you continue to ascend higher to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery (1 hr) and get a closer look of this miraculous monastery. Take an overlook to find amazing sceneries underneath.

The principal Lhakhang (monastery) of the present monastic complex dates from 1692. Taktsang was damaged severely by fire in 1998 but has now been fully restored to its former glory.

After seeing the Monastery, you begin your return downward trip and drive back to Paro for city sightseeing.

Day 3: Paro Departure

Today, our tour guide will transfer you to Paro International Airport for your next destination. Tour service end.
