Currency Exchange in Tibet

RMB (Renminbi) is the lawful currency in Tibet, so foreign currency is not allowed to circulate there. Usually, tourists are suggested to change money in the bigger cities like Beijing and
Shanghai.

In Lhasa, the Bank of China or some hotels are able to provide with the service of currency exchange. To change enough money and control the expenses is necessary for the fact that it is not easy to find the bank or someone who offer the help to change money outside of Lhasa.
