The expensive airfare for most of tourists is still a obstacle in their way to enter to Tibet. With the opening of Qinghai-Tibet railway in 2006, the difficulty to enter into Tibet has been completey overcome. The railway is expected to extend to Shigatse, even Kathmandu, which will become the main artery of South Aisa.

Beijing to Lhasa train runs every day, while Chengdu to Lhasa, Chongqing to Lhasa, Shanghai to Lhasa, Guangzhou to Lhasa, Xining to Lhasa, Lanzhou to Lhasa does every other day.

The scenery along the railway is worth watching in the train. The charming scenery includes hoh xil nature reserve, Mount Yuzhu, Tuotuohe River, Yangpachen, Tsonag Lake, etc., which mainly are along from Xining to Lhasa.
