Lhasa Barkhor Street
Barkhor Street was taking shape with the development of Jokhang Temple. Usually, the old Lhasa includes the circuit of Barkhor Street with Jokhang Temple as the center. Tibetan religion, economy, culture, customs, arts and crafts all are gathering at Barkhor Street, which is the must visit for tourists.
Around the Barkhor Street cluster most traditional hotels for tourists at home and abroad. Walking around Barkhor Street, you could see a religious activity-ritual walk. All the tibetan believers do the ritual walks in the Barkhor Street of Lhasa. Ritual walk contains three routes, which are inside track, center track and outside track. Inside track means to walk round the palace of monastery. Any believer rounding Jokhang Temple can be viewed as the center track. Walking around Jokhang Temple, Yaowangshan Mountain, Potala Palace and Ramoche Monastery called as outside track.
