Tibet Trekking Tips

To arrange the trekking tours is an important part of Tibet tourist industry. Tibet's unique environment poses many problems, so CITS Tibet Travel gives our clients some tips before the trek starts.
Buy what you need at home, but not too much. For protection from the sun, good sunglasses and sunblock cream, a hat and perhaps even an umbrella are necessary. In the trek, to climb high but sleep low is always the useful way to minimize the effects of altitude and reduce the risk of waking up snowbound.
Meals in the trek are very simple. Along the more popular routes, local people welcome foreign guests. Such gifts as chocolates, cloth gloves, hairpins, books, pens, etc. The most popular treks are to Everest Base Camp, from Ganden to Samye, to Namtso Lake. Trek to Lhamo Lhatso Lake and the Kailash kora are for the hardy, experienced few.
