Lhasa Entertainment Guide

For local residents, Langmar Hall is the best place to go. As a window of Tibetan culture for tourists, they have fun at night in Lhasa. In Lhasa, dozens of Langma Halls, big or small, start the performances when ten o'clock falls at night, which bring much vigor to the night life of Lhasa.
Karaoke or video shows are also popular in Tibet. If karaoke isn't your type, the popular dances in the Potala Square or traditional parites in the restaurants like the Makye Ame, Kailash, Crazy Yak and Tashi are still interesting.
There are two cinemas. One is opposite the minibus station and the other is located between the Kirey and Banak Shol Hotel.
Makye Amye
Makye Amye is a good place for a beer or hard-to-find drinks such as Kahlua, and sometimes stay open until the early hours if there are enough people around.
Dunya
The upstairs bar is popular with local people and tour groups. ¡¡ãHappy-hour¡¡À means the discount is offered between 7pm and 9:30pm on Friday.
Gleckes Fresh Beer
To be opened at 10am of midnight every day. In the west of town near the Grand Hotel, Gleckes brews its own dark and lager-style beer and it's pretty good. Food is served but it's nothing special.
Music Kitchen
Music Kitchen, as a part of a string of bars and restaurants near Lhasa Hotel, boasts the best Western music in Lhasa.
Teahouses
There are several Tibetan teahouses in Lhasa where you can grab a cheap cup of changamo(sweet tea). The best places are Turquoise Dragon Teahouse, a Tibetan-style place with a fine balcony overlooking Dekyi Shar Lam, the teahouse underneath the Tashi Targyel Hotel and the pleasant teahouses around the ponds to the east of Potala Square.
