It is a sacred site to Bengali people, because Atisa, the Bengali scholar, originated from Bengal. In this site, there is a relic from Naropa. Its exterior has long open-porch and symmetrical windows, which its interior has several representations and frescoes of bodhisattva Tara. All the representations are completed with natural pigment white, blue, green and red.</p> <p><img height="258" alt="Drolma Lhakhang" width="400" src="/images/Drolma Lhakhang/Drolma Lhakhang1.jpg" /></p> <p>Various ancient relics and hidden treasures are housed in this small but significant monastery, so it's worth to stop here for a visit, especially for a Buddha fan. Besides, it takes only 30 minutes by bus from the southwest of Lhasa.</p> <p><img height="247" alt="Drolma Lhakhang" width="400" src="/images/Drolma Lhakhang/Drolma Lhakhang3.jpg" /></p> <p>The scholar's name of Atisha is frequently mentioned together with Drolma Lhakhang. Atisha, 53 at that time, came to Tibet at the invitation of the king of the Guge kingdom in western Tibet. Then he made his teachings among one of the instrumental teachings in the so-called second diffusion of Buddhism in the 11th century. It is one of Atisha&rsquo;s foremost disciples, Dromtonpa that founded&nbsp; Drolma Lhakhang at this time. As a master of Buddhism, Dromtonpa also founded the Kadampa order. And the monastery belongs to that order.
