It is one of the most highly-preserved villiages in the region, and&nbsp; therefore attracts visitors, despite the fact that its hilltop dzong has barely nothing.</p> <p>Transportations to the village is quite convenient. Gongkar airport is only 23 km from it, and passengers can come and go by the buses running between Tsetang and Lhasa. The monastery is not far away from the south of the main highway--only 5-minutes walk. It is a 11th-century Sakyapa monastery, which has been long forgotten.</p> <p>On the main assembly hall there is a fine mural of the fifth Dalai Lama, just outside the vestibule. Besides, an unusual side chapel, dedicated to the five Dhyani Buddhas, has been situated around a central statue of Nampa Namse.&nbsp; The upper floor reminds people of a historical event, when the current Dalai Lama, 23 at that time, spent the night en route to exile in India in 1959 here, a place where the throne and image of Chenresing can be found.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p align="left"><span class="STYLE5"><em>The word files of this webpage and some images are original works of Tibettravel.Org.
