It is a popular pilgrimage site associated with the illustrious Milarepa, who is the founder of the Kagyupa order.</p> <p>Many people believe that Milarepa is Tibet&rsquo;s greatest songwriter and poet. Rechungpa, his foremost disciple, founded Rechungpuk as a cave retreat. Later, people built a monastery here, with 1000 monks living here. However, now the site lies in ruins. But for pilgrims, the monastery is the atmospheric cave of Black Heruka.
