Tibet Mountaineering Expedition returned toTibet with triumph on the afternoon of August 22 after conquered the Mt.Gashubrum I, one of 14 highest mountains in the world with an average altitude of 8,000 meters. They were warm welcomed by TAR leaders, sports circles workers and local press media.

TME started off on May 16 from Lhasa, they travelled Urumchi and arrived in Islamabad, capital of Pakistan. They settled in the Base Camp at 5,000 meters. The crew fighted against anoxia, piercing cold and bad weather condition and managed to finish camp building and transport tasks in the short good weather period. July 12 marks in the history, the team finally climbed on the summit of Gashubrum I with an altitude of 8,068 meters, thus the feat commenced in 1993 has achieved. Three major members Tsering Dorje, Penba Tashi and Lodro have also become the world class professional mountaineers, which raised great effect all over the world and winned great honor for the Chinese nation.

A celebration party was held for TME on August 9 in People's Great Hall in Beijing, National Sports Bureau honored the three mountaineers with "Sports Honor Medal" and awarded Tibet Mountaineering Expedition glory title.

The team has recieved warm welcome and attended many celebration parties in different forms in Xinjiang, Beijing and Sichuan and other places after arrival from Pakistan on July 28, the crew are deeply moved and encouraged.
