Lhasa-Shigatse railway is under construction
Lhasa-Shigatse railway, as one extension line of Qinghai-Tibet Railway, is under construction now. The railway builders work in shifts round the clock to assure the project completed on time. The construction started in 2010 and is expected to complete in 2014, with a length of 253 kilometers. After its completion, the situation of relying on highway transportation of southwest Tibet will be competely changed. Besides, the influential areas of Qinghai-Tibet Railway will be expanded.
