Gongar airport is only international airport of Lhasa, It is located in Gonggar County, Shannan Region, Tibet, about 98
kilometers (about 61 miles) south of Lhasa.Lhasa military airport is nearby. Lhasa Gonggar Airport is one of the civil
airports with the highest altitude (about 3,937,007 yards) in the world. It has a 4,000-meter (about 4,374 yards) long
airstrip. This project started in May, 2003 and the main body of the project finished by the end of 2004.
Its runway, around 4000meters (4374 yards) is the longest one in China, which can handle many large types of big aircrafts
landing and taking-off. Domestic airlines using Lhasa Gonggar Airport can operate flights to Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai,
Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Chongqing, Xian, Xining, Kunming, Diqing and Chamdo Region. One international airline connects Katmandu
and Lhasa.

Bridge of 1583.1 meters, Xierong Channel of 2437 meters, Yarlung Zangbo River Grand Bridge of 3788.1 meters, No.101 line
rebuiding section of 3.2556 kilometers, the joint section of roadbed of 2.2431 kilometers. The budget of the investment of
this project is 633.2 million RMB and the time limit for it, comfirmed by Traffic Ministry is 3 years.
