Tibet connects to the north with Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, to the northeast with Qinghai Province, to the east with Sichuan Province and to the southeast with Yunnan Province. It is also bordered to the south and west by India, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, Burma and Kashmir area.</p> <p>The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has long enjoyed reputation of being &quot;the Roof of the World&quot;, where Tibet Autonomous Region with an average altitude of over 4,000 meters and an area of 1.2 million square kilometers. The rich and beautiful land makes Tibet a world-known tourist destination with its unique cultural tradition.</p> <p>This is a land of vast contrast with snow-capped mountains offering beauty unsurpassed and deep tropical rainforests in another, and with open pastureland against imposing mountains and cornier forests. The great Himalayas lies in its south with the towering <a href="http://www.tibettravel.org/tibettravel/html/2010419191553-1.Html"><strong>Mt. Everest or called Mt. Qomolangma </strong></a>in Chinese standing above all world's peaks.</p> <p>Tibetan cultural tradition is enchanting tourists besides these spectacular offerings of nature. Prolonged ethnic cultural exchanges also enabled Tibetan Buddhism to make its way into the Mongolian and other ethnic minority nationalities throughout China. Buddhism has long been widely worshipped in Tibet, especially in the traditional Kham and Amdo areas. It has also made its way into Bhutan, Nepal, and Mongolia.</p> <p>Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world on Sino-Nepalese border, <strong><a href="http://www.tibettravel.org/tibettravel/html/201053233848-1.Html">the winding Yarlung Tsangbo River</a></strong>, ancient ruins, palaces and monasteries, folkloric activities and religious ceremonies and more unequaled travel resources shine upon Tibet. The capital of China Tibet Autonomous Region &ndash; Lhasa is now the tourist center with routes extending to Shigatse, Shannan, Nyingtri, Ngari and Nagchu, covering a total of over 60 scenic spots and places of interest.</p> <p>Is it really very cold in Tibet? In a year, Tibet has the sunshine of over 3,000 hours with the snow once or twice. During the daytime even in the winter, it is not cold at all with the bright sunshine, which ranges from 10 degrees Celsius&nbsp; to 25 degrees Celsius. It will be below 10 degrees Celsius in the night and even below Zero degrees Celsius near to the lake or mountain without the sunshine.
