Visting foreigners are charged a hefty fee of Rs750.This is collected and checked zealously at over a dozen entrances to the city.If you are staying here for up to a week,you need only pay the entrance fee once,but you must state this at the time of buying the ticket and write your passport number on the back of the ticket.

For longer stays,a Bhaktapur Vistor Pass is available within a week of purchasing your entry ticket.Passws are issued by the Bhaktapur Munivipality Office at the ticket booth on the western end of Durbar Sq and require two photos and a photocopy of your visa and passport details.SAARC nationalities pay Rs50.Children under 10 are free.

They are moneychargers in Taumadhi and Tachupal Tole and a couple of Inernet cafes,including Surfer`s edge just north of Potter`s Sq.
