It is Ven. Harwa Jamyang Lovhu rinpoche's heartfelt wishes that pure Buddhadharma will remain in this world for a very long time and every living being will be benefited by the flourishing of pure dharma. Motivated by such intection, the venerable master and his dedicated disciples have made great effort to build a great pagoda in Kormang Monastery since february 1997. Under the blessings of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and the help of Dharma protectors. the consturction of the Great Pagoda had been successfully completed and the opening ceremony was held in September 1999. The Pagoda is denominated by Gongtang Rinpoche as "Meaningful to behold", which impoies that all those who have the fortune to see the pagoda will receive both mundane and super-mundane benefits and sow the seeds for liberation and enlightenment in their future lives.
The pagoda covers an area of 1000 square meters with its front side facing southward. It is located within a courtyard of about 3212 square meters. With a square base, the Pagoda has 7 storeys and is 35 meters high. The first two storeys form up the Great Hall of buddhas and Deities. The third storey is the Hall of Lineage gurus. The fourth storey is the vase-like structure, on the front side of which, there is an archway deged with resplendent gold-layered decorations. Above t his , the fifth storey is the large-square-hat and the sixth storey is the thirteen-layered wheels of Dharma. The seventh storey i.e. the top storey consists of the roof with the top crown symbolizing the sun and moon. around the seat of the pagoda, there are 140 bronze-gilded wheels of scripture, above which, on an upright wooden board, there are paintings of thirty-five confession buddhas and many images of Buddha Light of Fire. Besides. there are many beautiful decorative patterns and auspicious symbols such as the ten-sanskrit-letters painted on the walls and roofs of the Hall. Under the sunshine of the Tibetan Plateau, set off by the snow-mountains high up into the sky and the exuberant grassland stretching to the horizon, the Great Pagoda shines out a brilliance of immaculate beauty, grandeur and majesty.
May this holy Great Pagoda become the supreme refuge object of the world and may countless living beings receive benefits from it !
