For example, Song of siba and Song of Siba Butchering Cows explained the origin of the sky, the earth, mountains and all the natural creatures.</P> <P><STRONG>Song of Siba</STRONG><BR>Questions:<BR>Before Siba was born,<BR>The sky was mixed with the earth,<BR>Tell me: Who separated them?<BR>Before Siba was born,<BR>The feminine was mixed with the masculine,<BR>Tell me: Who separated them?</P> <P>Answers & Questions:<BR>Before Siba was born,<BR>The sky was mixed with the earth,<BR>It was the roc that separated them.<BR>Tell me: What was it on the rocis head?<BR>Before Siba was born,<BR>The feminine was mixed with the masculine,<BR>It was the sun that separated them.<BR>Tell me: What was it on top of the sun?</P> <P><STRONG>Song of Siba Butchering Cows</STRONG><BR>Questions:<BR>When Siba butchered the calf,<BR>Where did he put its head?<BR>I don¡¯t know so I ask you, the singer; </P> <P>When Siba butchered the calf,<BR>Where Siba butchered the calf,<BR>Where did he put its tail?<BR>I don't know so I ask you, the singer; <BR>When Siba butchered the calf,<BR>Where did he put its skin?<BR>I don't know so I ask you, the singer.<BR>Answers:<BR>When siba butchered the calf,<BR>He put its head on the uplands.<BR>That's why the forests are so thick and dense.<BR>When Siba butchered the calf,<BR>He spread its skin on the ground.<BR>That's why the ground is so level and smooth.</P> <P>Because they could be sung at will while working, work songs make up the majority of traditional folk songs, covering cultivating the land, carrying fertilizer, sewing seeds, reaping, threshing, and building granaries, from the herding and breeding to the milking and shearing, and even twisting thread, extracting oil, rowing the boat, carrying salt and ramming Agar clay. For example, they wou1d sing like this when they threshed the grain:</P> <P>The place where they thresh is Purle Village.<BR>All the food crops<BR>Will be threshed by young men and girls.<BR>The flail is made of rare sandalwood.<BR>The joints of the flail are made of purest gold.<BR>The knots of the flail are made of pliable wild ox hide.<BR>The handle of the flail is perfectly straight like an arrow.<BR>The broom is a bundle of peacock feathers<BR>The wooden rake looks like the moon on the eighth lunar day,<BR>The basket is like a large silver vase<BR>The sieve is weaved with gold threads<BR>And the one who winnows the grain is a beautiful young girl.</P> <P>Love songs constitute quite a large proportion in Tibetan folk songs.
