Tingri to Everest Base Camp provides a heady mix of solitude,wildlife sighting and physical challenge, onagers and gazelle thruve around the trail,and you might even get luchy and see a Tibetan brown bear rambling in the pastures.You will accomplish 70 km in 4 whole days on foot; the route of trekking is in a high-elevation region with altitudes ranging between 4400m and 5300m, on the way to Everest Base Camp you will have enough time to explore the valleys and glaciers below the massive north-face of Mt. Everest and view the most magnificent world's highest mountain scenery.

Upon your arrival, your local tour guide will pick you up at the airport/railway station and escort you to your hotel in Lhasa. The rest of the day is for you to take a good rest so as to adapt yourself to the high altitude of Lhasa.
Overnight in Lhasa
In morning, go to visit the famous Potala palace and explore the grandest of this myriad chapels, you will experience its audience halls, the jeweled and Golden burial chortens (stupa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, thangkas, combinations of mandala, etc. Tibet Museum is an important window to introduce the glorious culture of Tibet, as a free Museum in Lhasa, you should not miss it. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the holist temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, built during Songtsen Gonpo's reign by princess Wencheng of Tang Dynasty, 647 A.D, and its famous Barkor Kora. (Notice: the sequence of sightseeing might be changed basing on the reservation of Potala Palace).
Overnight in Lhasa
Today, you will visit two important monasteries in Lhasa, the Drepung and the Sera. Drepung monastery is situated at the foothill of a mountain and was founded by Jamyang Choeje in 1416. It was once home of 10000 monks and Ganden podrang in Drepung is famous for it was the government centre during the fifth dalai lama and later moved to the famous potala palace during the fifth dalai lama. After having lunch, continue to visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa's disciple Jamchen Choeje. The most attractive is its Buddhist Scriptures debating held in the courtyard mostly around 6:00 - 7:30 in the afternoon.
Overnight in Lhasa
We follow the Friendship Highway to Gyantse, up to Kambala pass which is 4794m high. From the top of the pass Kangpa-la at 4700m in clear weather, you can see the fabulous shade of deep turquoise Yamdro-tso Lake that is shaped like coiling scorpion with deep blue in colour. Then drive along the mountain down to Gyangtse, visit the famous stupa - Gyangtse Kumpum, the most stunning architectural wonder in Tibet.
Overnight in Gyantse
Morning drive to Shigatse that is 90km from Gyangtse. Visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas in Shigatse, then drive along Friendship Hwy to Old Tingri via Lhatse and Shegar. Your guide will do preparations for the trek, while you may have a good view of Cho Oyu.
Overnight at Old Tingri ( Local Guest house, dorm bed)
Our trekking begins from Old Tingri, goes through the Tingri plain. Trekking along apart of the Ra-chu Valley, we will see the beautiful valley scenery with extensive meadows and groups of sheep and goats. The rest of the day we can visit a small gompa in Chholun. Tonight will be spent in a comfortable campsite in Lunthang. This bleak region is home only to herders and barley harvesters.
Camping
The challenging trekking really starts today as we go up into the mountains. Much uphill walking is done as we climb towards the top of Lamna La. And we camp beyoud the top of this pass.

In the morning we descend steeply into lush vegetation. The only other people we will encounter are yak herders and their families. Camp will be made in the small village of Zommug. Truly amazing views can be seen as the sun sets in this barren town.

On our last day of trekking we will wind our way to the end destination of Rongbuk and Everest Base Camp. Along the way we can also visit the Dza Rongbuk monastery and gompas. They are truly ancient sites, but nothing compared to our night camping at Everest Base Camp.
Camping
We drive a short distance from Rongpuk to Lhatse, then follow the friendship highway back to Sakya. You may relax by enjoying the Xiqian hotspring near Lhatse.
Overnight at Sakya Monastery Guest House
The last program for this trip is visiting the famous Sakya Monastery. The Sakya tradition inside Sakya Monastery is one of the four main Buddhist schools in Tibet. It was from here that the whole of Tibet was governed during the period of Sakya hegemony and even now there are buildings of historic importance to be seen here. (The largest book in the world is in Sakya's great library, written in gold)

Depart from Lhasa by air or by train. Airport or railway station dropping off, end tour.
