In 1844, the seventh Panchen Lama, Tenpei Nyima, built the palace. It was rebuilt with government funding in 1954 and is the summer palace where the Panchen Lama sleeps. The restoration or reworking of murals is quite successful, though the new paintings are not comparable to the old works. Still, those works are quite lovely. Covering every surface of the rooms, their colors are vibrant, and their images are fantastic. And on the whole, the form is rather awesome.
There are many historical relics and artistic masterpieces placed in the palace, especially the exquisite mural "Ba Si Ba Meets Kublai Khan".
Summer Palace of Panchen Lamas has three gates. The first gate has four octagonal vermilion-painted pillars on the front eaves, and the gate hall is decorated with fierce and untamed beasts, soaring dragons, and various floral patterns on both sides of the gate wall. Painted with murals of rolling clouds, tigers, dragons, characters, and Buddhist stories. The brushwork is delicate, and both the form and spirit are similar. After passing the first door, there is a secluded path, paved with red and sparkling gravel, and adorned with white stone and jade blocks. The second gate is a courtyard in the front courtyard. Stepping into the courtyard and entering the third gate, one can admire the magnificent, magnificent, and solemn palace.
