With the opening of the Qinghai-Tibet railway, Tibet travelling was chosen by more and more people, payment by cards be the first choice in most travelers. However, the bank systems are immature, so travelers should pay attention to three tips when you use bank cards.

First, in four state-owned commercial banks only CBC(Construction Bank of China),BC(Bank of China) and ABC(Agriculture Bank of China) set branch in Tibet.You’d better choose these three bank card, although others unionpay cards could used in Tibet.

Aim at these problems, Zhongwei, the personal banking business deputy manger in Tibet Branch of CBC pointed out that each inter bank business relate to many steps, so the mistakes are unavoidable. Now, banks are try to improve their service quality.

Zhongwei said, network problem, cards degauss, bank problems also lead to business failure. He reminds all customers could call bank for help if you have problems.

Second, payment by cards have no service charge and haven’t money limitation.

Some Lhasa stores ask for 2%-5% service charge when the guests punching the card, even limitation of lowest cosuming price, that very inconvenient for customers.

Zhongwei reminded all the travelers, there are no service charge in banks if you pay by POS machine.

Third, due to the limited stores could use POS machine, you’d better take enough cash before you travelling.
