Everest Base Camp, also EBC, is the first camp of Mount Everest, and generally, it is also the farthest place where the common travelers can be. EBC locates in the southwest of tibet and it has attracted many travelers every year. Then, how to get to the Everest Base Camp (EBC) from Lhasa?
As we all know, foreigners who travel in tibet must be organized by certain qualified travel agencies being accompanied by tour guides all along their tibet tours, and are not allowed to take the county buses by themselves alone, so as for the transportation means of traveling to EBC from lhasa, it’s usually tourist bus or 4WDs rented by the travel agency.

And talking about the itineraries of getting to EBC, although different travel agencies may offer different itineraries traveling to EBC from Lhasa, there are certain places which must be passed when heading to EBC. Generally, when having an Everest Base Camp tour starting from Lhasa, you will pass the following places: Gyangtse (not necessarily a must-pass, it’s mainly for sightseeing), Shigatse, Lhatse, Tingri, Rongbuk Monastery and finally EBC. And along the journey, you may visit the following most-visited tourist sites: Yamdro-tso lakes, karo-la glacier, and Kubum monastery in Gyantse. Of course, according to the length of your schedule, you can visit many other places along the way to EBC.
