Pick up Tourists at Lhasa Gonggar Airport

Take Photos at the Eastern Courtyard of Potala Palace
Potala Palace is often the first stop for most international tourists. The imposing building consists of White and Red Palaces. Tourists can follow the long steps to reach the top of the Red Palace where they can enjoy the stunning panorama of Lhasa city. Inside the religious compound tombs of successive Dalai Lamas and their living and study room can also be visited, not to mention quite a few precious jewels and Buddha sculptures and other cultural relics.
Tour Jokhang Temple: The Spiritual Heart of Lhasa
Jokhang Temple and its surrounding Barkhor Street are the center of pilgrimage in Lhasa. Tourists can witness the fervent prostration done by Tibetan pilgrims and how they circle around Jokhang Temple on Barkhor Street while chanting Buddhist mantras and spinning prayer wheels on their hand. All of the tourists will be deeply impressed by solemn ritual and strong Buddhist ambience.
Visit Assembly Hall of Sera Monastery
Sera Monastery is one of top three Gelugpa monasteries in Lhasa, with other two being Drepung Monastery and Ganden Monastery. The highlight of this Buddhist school would be the action-packed “Monk Debate” at 3PM in the debate courtyard. With two monks a group, they debate on Buddhist doctrines and philosophy by clapping their hands, yelling, dancing and rolling the Buddhist prayer beads, etc.

Feel so Exhilarated at the Sight of Turquoise Yamdrok Lake
Travelling from Lhasa to Gyantse County, you will pass one of the most well-known sacred lakes in Tibet, i.e. Yamdrok Lake. Gangbala Pass is the best place to overlook the entire sapphire Yamdrok Lake with boundless mountain range as its backdrop.
Take Photos with Tame Tibetan Mastiffs at Gangbala Pass
Traditionally, Tibetan mastiffs are the watchdogs of Tibetan nomads and are known for their aggressive and menacing character to any intruder. While, these Tibetan mastiffs are tame ones and love being fondled by visitors. You may pay a few bucket to their owners for the shot.
Tour Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse
Founded by the first Dalai Lama, Tashilhunpo Monastery is the most prominent Gelugpa monastery in Shigatse. It houses the largest gilded statue of Maitreya Buddha (Buddha of the future) in world with 26.2 metres (86 feet) in height and a tomb of all the Panchen Lama containing masses of jewels and gold. During big Tibetan festival, the enormous Thangka Buddha will also be displayed on Buddha unfolding platform.
Gaze at Awe-inspiring Himalayan Range at Gawula Pass
Gawula Pass is the best place to enjoy the superb vista of top 5 highest mountains along Himalayas. Starting from left to right, you can see Makalu(8463m), Lhotse(8516m), Mt. Everest (8844.43m) and Cho Oyu (8201m)and Shishapangma(8012m).
Trek from Rongbuk Monastery(5150m) to Everest Base Camp (5200m)
Shortly after you arrive in Rongbuk Monastery (5150m), the highest Buddhist monastery in the world, there is only 8km away from EBC. Unlike the situation in Nepal where you can only trek to EBC, on Tibet’s side, you may choose to trek or take eco-van to reach Everest Base Camp.

Spend the Night at EBC
Unfortunately, there are no hotels in EBC given the harsh environment. However, there are many cozy tents you may find there. At night, it would be bitterly cold out the EBC, whereas inside the tent it is warm and cozy, you can chat with many international tourists. It would be a life-time experience to stay overnight at the foot of world’s summit.
Pull over to Enjoy Rapeseed Flowers on the Way back to Lhasa
The blooming season of Rapeseed flowers in Tibet is from May to Sept due to the high altitude. The massive yellow flowers are a hug draw to world-wide tourists.
