The Tibet tourist market continued to heat up in 2014 as its annual inbound tourist number exceeded 15 million people for the first time, an increase of more than 20 percent over that of the previous year. In 2015, Tibet will further promote tourism development and tourist service management, as well as advance the integrated development of tourism, culture and ecology. At the same time, Tibet will strive for a new record in the tourism market with an aim of 17 million visitors and a tourism revenue of 24 billion yuan (about 3.9 billion U.S. dollars).
