Tibet-themed group art exhibition debuts Europe
A Tibet-themed group art exhibition has rung up the curtain Thursday night in the China Cultural Center in Berlin, Germany.
The exhibition, with 42 pieces of works created by 12 painters on show, is the first of its kind that native Tibetan painters have ever held in a joint effort in Germany and even Europe at large.
The exhibition shows both the ancient history and modern civilization of China's western highland, and the religious traditions and local folk customs.
In particular, Thangka, a unique Tibetan art and known as the encyclopedia of Tibet, is displayed during the exhibition.
Face-to-face exchanges and communication can help more German to better understand Tibetan traditional culture and its development. At the same time, Tibetan painters can also learn the essence of German arts, according to the host.
The year 2012 marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationships between China and Germany.
And the 2012 Chinese Culture Year is held in Germany to promote common understanding between the two people.
Hosted by Tibet Literary Federation and Tibet Artists Association, the exhibition is co-sponsored by Chinese Culture Center in Berlin.
The exhibition lasts to April 20 and a following exhibition will be held in Cologne.It attracts many people want to trave to Tibet.
