Namtso Lake scenic spot open in early May
The Namtso Lake scenic spot will open in early May, according to Tibetan tourism department after a temporary close due to snowy weather for safety reasons.
Namsto Lake, also the Hevenly Lake has an altitude of 4.718meter. Last winter, it embraced frequent snow and the road was blocked with thick snow.
As a result, the tourism department decided to close the mountain.
According to the staff member, the scenic spot has not been completely open at present. But tourists can still visit.
To ensure safety, the tourism department reminds tourists that before planning a trip here, it is better to call the travel agency to arrange the trip.
It is 70 kilometers from the east to the west and 30 from the north to the south, covering an area of 1,920 square kilometer. It is the highest salty water lake in the world.
