Last Forest Dweller in Nanyi Valley, S Tibet

In the Nanyi Valley of Mainling County of Nyingchi Prefecture in the south part of Tibet, the heavy smog hasn't lifted yet, hovering above the dense forest. In a hide cappa and a knife around the waist, the 78-year-old Lindong of Lhoba ethnic group walks out of his wooden house and is going to chop the bamboo cane in the mountain. He is the last villager living in the forest in the Nanyi Valley.

Lhoba ethnic minority is China's least populated nation with only 3,000 across the whole country. Driven by the natural environment, the long knife is Lhoba men's favorite and basic tool because it not only can chop the bamboo but also prevent from the animal and poisonous insect attack.
