Nyingchi Starts Airport Expansion
Famous for the world's deepest canyon and as a key scenery spot in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, Nyingchi Prefecture began its airport extension last week to handle a six-time larger annual capacity, Xinhua reported.
Lasting for one and a half years, the project will increase the airport’s terminal area from 3,200 square meters to 13,500 square meters, raising the annual capacity from 120,000 passengers to 700,000 passengers.
Because of the poor geological and environmental factors, flights in Nyingchi airport can only take off in the morning, which increase the burden of buying tickets during the tourist seasons. If you have a Nyingchi travel plan you have to notice it.
The expansion project is launched to address this problem and bring convenience to people travel to Tibet.
