The Traffic Control over Mt. Everest Base Camp Has Been Removed
On the way to Mt. Everest Base Camp
According to the latest official source from Tingri County, the traffic control over entire Qusum road linking 318 national highway with Mt. Everest Base Camp has been lifted from Aug, 20, 2015. From now on, all vehicles and travellers bound for Mt.Everest Base Camp do not have to detour to reach the destination.
Meanwhile,to ensure the safety of all travellers and vehicles, please follow the current traffic rules and temporary regulations as the construction of traffic security facilities is still underway.
The renovation project of Qusum road which covered 96 km started from early 2014, with a total investment of 420 million RMB. Before the completion of the project, all vehicles were forbidden to enter and had to make a detour to around its 77km section to reach Mt. Everest Base Camp within the limited time frame.
