Toding Kloster in Ngari Prefecture
The Toding Kloster is the first temple in Ngari. It is located in the bank of Xiangquan River. It was first built in North Song Dynasty.
At that time, the strong Guge Kingdom is still in full flourish. During several hundreds years, the Toding Kloster is full of tenpels and pagoda after suffering so many natural and man-made destruction.
Toding Kloster was built in AD 996. The name of Toding Kloster means "flying in the sky and never falling down" in Tibetan words. Because the Guge Kingdom had promoted the Buddhism, Toding Kloster had became the Buddhist center at that time.
The Toding Kloster follows the architectural style of Samya Monastery.
The architectural style is directly influenced by those from Nepal and India. So it's the top collection of different places including the local Tibetan culture.
The paintings, sculptures and historical relics are precious thing to touch that times. The Toding Kloster in floruit was consist of many Buddhism buildings, halls, pagoda and monks' departments. Indian senior monk Attisha had sermon here and talked Buddhist sutras. From them on a lot of senior monks coming here to spread Buddhism.
Each year from January third to January 21 in Tibetan lunar calendar, Toding Kloster will hold Buddhism event. Tibetans will get together celebrating by holy dancing, horse riding and other activities. People who have Tibet travel will take the coach from Shiquan River to Zhada Country and then walk to Toding Kloster.

Over the years, she travelled overseas with Tibet Tourism Bureau many times to promote Tibet tourism. Currently, Catherine works as the marketing director of Tibet Vista, an opinion leader behind the whole team of Tibet Vista.
