Eyesight-recovery program for rural Tibetans
Tibet Autonomous Region is an important part of China. People who have Tibet travel can understand the attention that Chinese government has payed on it. An inland medical team launched an eyesight-recovery program for rural Tibetans with cataract in the cooperation with a local hospital in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region on Aug. 6, 2012.
More than 60 local residents took part in the program with over 40 fit for the free surgery.
A total of 19 Tibetans received the cataract surgery that day, more than twenty others were expected to have the surgery the next day and the program would end on Aug. 8.
The medical team from northeast China's Harbin Medical University also set up a long-term mechanism to do medical research with Tibet Tibetan Medical Hospital and Tibetan Traditional Medical College.
Their cooperation, aimed at training local medical talents to provide better medical services in Tibet, will enable Tibetans with cataract to receive free surgery in Lhasa. Such programs also carried by other provinces in China aiming at help Tibetan development.
With exceptional passion and outstanding leadership, Mrs. Catherine has dedicated herself to Tibet inbound tourism and China tour for 15 years. Over the years, she travelled overseas with Tibet Tourism Bureau many times to promote Tibet tourism. Currently, Catherine works as the marketing director of Tibet Vista, an opinion leader behind the whole team of Tibet Vista.
