The truth about Tibet permits 2012

You may see all kinds of rumors on internet about Tibet permits this year, especially since the policy on Tibet permits issued in this May. Someone said that Tibet was closed to foreign visitors and no permits were issued. But the truth about Tibet permits 2012 is that Tibet has never been closed to foreigners since this April and Tibet Tourism Bureau issues Tibet permits for those tourists meeting the requirements of the policy all the time, even during the 18th National People’s Congress of China. Honestly, the requirements are really harsh for most tourists, individual travelers in particular.

As it required at least five travelers with the same nationality to travel in the same tour group, most travelers had to give up their Tibet tour plan. But Tibettravel org never gave up and tried every effort to help tourists to find travel partners and get Tibet permits in the past months. Our efforts were rewarded by success in getting many Tibet permits for tour groups from different countries and our clients’ appreciation. But for us, the happiest moment was that our clients finished their trip smoothly and wonderfully. For example, to get Tibet permit for Mr and Mrs Matt from Australia in October was really a big headache for us. They were refused by many travel agents before turning to us for help because it was really hard to find proper travel partners from them at that time. However, Tibettravel org did not refuse them and finally helped them find travel mates and get Tibet permits after a whole month’s effort.

Another example is about a lucky Swiss young man, Oliver Vit who is an individual traveler travelling to Tibet in this month. With our help, he found another four Swiss travelers, got Tibet permit and boarded the train from Chengdu to Lhasa yesterday. Now, he is on the train to Lhasa and will arrive at Lhasa tomorrow.
