Zhada Sand Forest in Ngari Prefecture
People who like Tibet travel always know Tibet is famous for the white snowy mountains and pure laks. But today we will talk about a very different place which is called Zhada Sand Forest.
The Zhada Sand Forest is located in the Zhada Country, Ngari Prefecture. The Zhada Sand Forest is made from the geological change of ancient lake basin and river bed tens of millions years. Nearly several hundreds square kilometers of soil forest is filled with different heights standing the sand trees. It is here that is found early human cave sides.
The Zhada Sand Forest is a special landform formated by water erosion. In the magic sunshine of plateau, it looks like a fairy land. When you driving in the sand forest, you just feel like wandering around the feet of giant. The soil mounds have different shapes.
Some of them look like the warriors garrisoning their homeland. Some of them look like ten thousand horses galloping ahead. Some of them look like devout believers taking up a meditation practice. Before 1100 years ago, the ruins nowadays are the palaces and temples in Guge Kingdom in full flourish.
Standing in the sunshine day and evening, the surface of mountain turns golden which looks vivid and rich. The Shiquan River and the sand forest together with the weathering pagoda silently stand in the drawn which shows mysterious and solemn.
The Zhada Sand Forest is located in the mountain of Zhada Countryside. Start from Shiquan River to the south and go about 255 kilometers, you will enter the Xiangquan River Valley where is the Zhada Country of Ngari Prefecture.
