Tibetans celebrate end of new year with ＂Tsampa fight＂

The Tibetan New Year 2013 lasted from Feb. 11 to Feb. 25, 2013. On the 15th day of January in the Tibetan calendar (Feb. 25, 2013), Tibetans celebrated end of new year with "Tsampa fight". In a "tsampa fight", participants cast tsampa (roasted barley flour) at each other to pray for good harvest.

With the end of the first grand traditional Tibetan festival in 2013 on Tibetan calendar, Tibetan people expects another interesting Tibetan festivals in 2013. The coming grandest festivals are Saga Dawa Festival falling in May and Shoton Festival falling in August.
