First Master of Arts Competition held in Tibet

June 12, the first Master of Arts in Tibet Tibet Nationalities Institute of Arts in the contest kicked off, according to "Tibet Daily." The purpose of this competition is to protect and rescue, the first of its kind in Tibet, traditional arts and crafts. 
 
Master of Arts in Tibet contest held every five years. 36 candidates, 38 applicants were approved by the Ad Hoc Committee for this year's tournament. Arts and crafts from eight candidates are industries, including sculpture, textile printing and dyeing, embroidery, weaving, carpet manufacturing, metal craft and Thangka, etc. The contest lasted three days, from June 12 to 15, during this period, especially Committee established graded according to their live performances, comprehensive evaluation and eligibility verification.
