Tibet boasts with numerous cultural relics. In the past years, Tibet made great progress in cultural preservation. Recently, a press delegation consisting of journalists from India and Nepal had paid a visit to Tibet Autonomous Region. During the visit, they went to such places as the Tibet University, the Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple and the Buddhist Academy of Tibet. Through closer contact, they had a clearer understanding of Tibetan culture as well as Tibetan people.
Jokhang temple is under renovation.
On May, 6th, members of the delegation expressed their impression of Tibet through a dialogue held between the delegation and their counterparts in Tibet.
"I am totally surprised by Tibet's development. There is prominent economic development. Meanwhile we also feel the achievements made in other fields such as education and cultural preservation." said Hanmo from Nepal.
"As Tibet's neighbors, Nepal and India have active economic relations with Tibet. Not only do we care about Tibet’s development, but also we want to have a picture of our businessmen doing business in Tibet." said Rahjet from India.
Pula Sanan had some studies of the history of Tibet before the visit. Yet unexpectedly, upon arrival he saw in person the rare and precious Buddhist culture which he thought had vanished or only available in the museum. He said "The culture and history of Tibet coexist with the modernization and are not submerged by modernization. More often than not, modern civilization erodes historical vestiges. But in Tibet it is not the case."
Rajesh had been to Tibet and this is his 5th visit to this land. He said a leapfrog progress has been made in Tibet's economy and infrastructure compared with five years ago.
Journalists coming afar were fascinated by Tibet's profound culture and religious glamour at the sight of the magnificent Potala Palace, and the bustling Jokhang Temple.
