Heavy investment on protection of Tibet's cultural heritage
Over 60 million yuan has been invested on the protection of Tibet's intangible cultural heritage over the past six years by government. More than 3,000 people were mobilized to conduct surveys over Tibet's intangible cultural heritage, during which nearly 500 intangible cultural heritage items were recorded and more than 1,000 intangible cultural heritage inheritors were listed. The traditional Tibetan medicine and paper, the Tibetan silk painting Thangka and the Tibetan dance music Nangma were registered as country-level intangible cultural heritages, while 53 Tibetan artists were listed as country-level intangible cultural heritage inheritors.
