Overview
This tour focuses on the Ganzi Tibetan Area with amazingly beautiful landscapes and unique culture and customs. The snow-capped mountain ranges, the clear highland lakes, the almost non-commercialized Tibetan customs and the larger scale of Tibetan Buddhist temples than that in Tibet will definitely impress you.
We set out from Chengdu, and go deeper into Tibetan Area along Sichuan-Tibet Highway. Currently, the Tibetan Buddhism culture is well preserved in Ganzi Tibetan Area, which also has most monks. Dege Scripture Printing Lamasery in Ganzi is the only woodblock printing Buddhist temple in the world. In other words, you can have deeper impression of Tibetan Buddhist culture in western Sichuan Tibetan area than in Tibet.

Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Chengdu
Transfer to your reserved hotel for a good rest after arriving in Chengdu airport or train station. You can enjoy Sichuan opera after dinner.
Stay overnight in Chengdu
Day 2: Chengdu day tour
In the morning, visit Jinsha Site museum located in the northwest of Chengdu at first to explore the glorious Chinese culture of the ancient Shu Kingdom, then visit Wuhou Temple built for memorial of one Shu kingdom premier.
After that, enjoy a short walk at the ancient Jinli Street. Later, drive to Wenshu Monastery to have wonderful taste of the vegetarian food for dinner. Then enjoy the cultural show - Sichuan Opera.

Day 3: Chengdu - Rilong
Drive 240km from Chengdu to Rilong Town where the famous Mt. Siguniang lies. And visit Wolong Panda Research Center, Mt. Balang, grassland and the yaks en route.

Day 4: Mt.Siguniang Sightseeing
Mt. Siguniang is known as the east ALPs. The scenery of this place is much attractive. You can spend a full day on trekking or riding horse at Changping valley.

Day 5: Rilong - Danba – Tagong
In the morning, drive about 2.5 hours to Danba, which is famous for its beauty valley with its pretty Jiarong branch Tibetan women. Visit the unique Danba Ancient block towers in Suopo, the Dadu river valley, and taste the folks and customs of Jiarong branch Tibet people. In the afternoon, drive to Tagong village via Bamei.

Day 6: Tagong - Daofu - Luhuo - Ganzi
Get up early to visit Tagong Monastery and head to Ganzi via Daofu & Luhuo. Drop a visit to Huiyuan monastery en route. The 7th Dalai Lama moved from Ta'er monastery in Xining to this temple for a secure reason and the 11th Dalai Lama was born around here in 1838.
You can visit Luhuo Shouling monastery, where the 10th Panchan Lama and the 14th Dalai Lama once stayed overnight in it. Therefore, it enjoys a high reputation among monasteries in Kham area.

Day 7: Ganzi day tour
In the morning, visit Ganzi monastery that was listed as the 1st monastery among the 13 monasteries at Ho'er area. The whole afternoon is free for you to explore the ancient town.

Day 8: Ganzi – Derge
Drive to Manigangou to visit the stunning holy alpine lake Yilhun La-tso, bordered by chortens and dozens of rock carvings. If the weather is clear, you will have a chance to see the huge glaciers of Que’er Mountain (6018m). After arriving in Gerge in the afternoon, you can visit the Derge Bakong Scripture Pringing Press and Monastery.

Day 9: Derge - Baiyu
Drive about 100km from Derge to Baiyu where you can make a tour to Katoc monastery on the top of a mountain, about 35 kilometers in a valley from Hepo village. The monastery is one of the four famous Nyingmapa monasteries in Kham area.

Day 10: Baiyu Day Tour
In the morning, pay a visit to Baiyu Monastery, another Nyingmapa monastery in Kham area. The rest of the day is free for you to walk around and relax yourself.

Day 11: Baiyu - Ganzi
Drive from Baiyu to Ganzi in the morning. We will pass the largest grassland in Ganzi and cross over the beautiful Haizi Mountain and other snow-capped mountains in Kham Area.

Day 12: Ganzi - Xinlong – Litang
Drive from Ganzi to Xinlong for lunch. On the way, you can enjoy the stunning scenery of Kham Area. In the afternoon, drive across Maoya Grassland at Litang.

Day 13: Litang day tour
Visit Litang Monastery located about 2km to the north of the town. This temple was built by the Third Dalai Lama in 1581. The 7th, 10th Dalai Lamas were born here and several other high ranked Living Buddhas once lived here. The rest time of the day is free for you to have a good rest or walk around.

Day 14: Litang - Xinduqiao – Kangding
In the morning, drive 290km eastward to Kangding, the Love Song City of China. En route, stop at Xinduqiao for a rest and visit Juli temple, which is about 15 kilometers of the mail road, Sichuan-Tibet Highway. You can enjoy a hot spring at Kangding.

Day 15: Kangding – Chengdu
After breakfast, pay a visit to Kangding Anjue Temple, the main temple at Kangding. Then drive back to Chengdu along the Dadu River, and pass the famous Erlang Tunnel along Sichuan-Tibet Highway.

Day 16: Depart from Chengdu
Transfer to Chengdu airport for your flight to next destination. The tour ends.
