Yabshi Phunkhang Heritage hotel is a beautiful mansion situated in the heart of the old Lhasa city. It was built in 1838 for the family of the 11th Dalai Lama, but it has been changed into a heritage hotel. Yabshi is title given to the parents of the 11th Dalai Lama of the Tibet, and Phunkhang is a short form of Phuntsok Khangsar.
The hotel in Lhasa has a beautiful garden, quaint rooms, courtyard, conference hall and an excellent restaurant with all other modern accessories. Though the hotel does not have central heating, the service in winter is still very satisfying for the hotel prepares electrically heated mattresses and space heaters for guests.
