Ms. Debbie Deng, the OP manager of Tibet Travel Org CITS, was invited to participate in its opening introduction conference held in Chengdu on March 6, 2014. Read detailed information at Shangri-la Hotel, Lhasa Boosts Luxury Travel in Tibet.
With 289-rooms in the center of Lhasa, capital city of Tibet, it is designed to reflect traditional Tibetan architectural art with the centerpiece being a 6.5-metre bell-like chandelier to resemble a Tibetan prayer wheel.
Among the hotel’s 289 rooms are 10 long-stay apartments, all with free Wi-Fi, while the hotel also includes a range of dining venues and recreational facilities. Both Tibetan and Chinese cuisine is available at the hotel restaurant, and on the top of the building is an outdoor tapas bar which overlooks Lhasa’s most famous landmark, the UNESCO world cultural heritage: Norbulingka and the Potala Palace.
There is also an oxygen lounge designed to help guests acclimatize to the altitude in Lhasa, which lies 3,650 meters above sea-level.
Tibetan artistry is reflected in every corner of the architecture.
