Midui Glacier is located in the Yupug Township of Pome County, Nyingchi Prefecture of Tibet Autonomous Region. It is the lowest glacier in the world and also an important oceanic glacier. In 2005, Midui Glacier was rated as one of the most beautiful glaciers in China.
The main peak of Midui Glacier is 6800 meters above sea level, while the snow-line elevation is only 4600 meters. The Midui Glacier is composed of world’s level ice falls with every ice fall over 800 meters high and over 1000 meters wide. Among the ice falls, there is a primeval forest with mixed coniferous and broad-leaved trees.
