The lowest temperature was -48℃ on the plateau which stood at an elevation of 5800 meters. The sunny sky would change to hail and snow just in a blink, leaving endless whiteness on land. There was no road here but ancient wilderness, stony ledges, trapping dunes, mudflats and even wild yaks that were as powerful as Hercules and were capable of overthrowing a SUV easily. People in that situation could only breathe through stuffed nostrils and life there was nothing more than a grain of sand, a piece of grass or a slice of cloud.
For 300 days and nights, I trudged more than 58,000 km with thousands of Tibetan antelopes and took more than 50,000 pictures and digital video of about 100 hours. The 10-month expedition brought me to Hox Hil, Altun Mountains, Changtang Plateau and the Origin of 3 Rivers. Each and every day and night befell with deadly struggles with asperity, loneliness, solitude and altitude sickness.
